As a former prosecutor, Mr. VanOrman prosecuted hundreds of traffic cases. Let this experience work for you. Drawing on his experience with local prosecutors and judges, Mr. VanOrman will fight to have your fines reduced or eliminated completely. If you have received a ticket in Georgia, please contact our office immediately for a free consultation or fill out the information form below. In some counties and cities in Georgia you must make arrangements to pay your ticket or attend court within 30 to 45 days of receiving your ticket.
A speeding ticket can be expensive. Georgia counties and cities impose some of the highest speeding fines in the United States. In addition, the Georgia legislature recently passed a “Super Speeder” law which imposes an additional $200.00 fine on any driver who receives a speeding citation for speeds that are 15 mph greater than the posted speed limit. If you just pay the traffic fine you will receive this additional “Super Speeder” fine in the mail approximately 30 days later. With both a local speeding ticket and a “Super Speeder” fine, it is not uncommon for a speeding ticket in Georgia to cost a total of $500.00 to $1,000.00 depending upon the speed that you were alleged to have traveled.
Note to Out of State Drivers: If you receive a speeding ticket in Georgia and simply pay the ticket without contacting a Georgia speeding ticket attorney, the violation will be reported to your state’s DMV and points will be assessed against your license based upon the rules of your state’s DMV, not Georgia’s system. Some states such as Florida and North Carolina have harsher points systems than Georgia and there may be an even greater risk of your license being suspended.
